A spectacular all-round performance from Justin Paris ensured Barbados successfully defended their Regional Under-19 50-over title in Antigua, while a composed half-century from Dhanesh Persaud helped Guyana secure fifth place with a 53-run consolation victory over the Windward Islands. After a challenging start to their campaign, Guyana found late momentum to string together a second successive win as the curtains came down on this season’s championships. FULL SCORECARD: In their final fixture, Guyana managed to post 184 all out from 49.2 overs, a total heavily dependent on their middle-order resilience. Persaud laid the foundation with a well-crafted 53, finding crucial support from Emmanuel Lewis, who contributed a vital 43. Romario Ramdeholl, Khush Seegobin and Adrian Hetmyer helped nudge the score forward, though Windwards’ Theo Edward proved a constant menace, wrapping up the innings with exceptional figures of 3 for 12. The target of 185 proved a bridge too far for the Windward Islands, whose chase was completely dismantled by a relentless Guyanese spin attack. Despite a quartet of starts from Earshinho Fontaine, Derwin Lewis, Khavaughn Bartholomew, and Tyler Venner—who all made it into the twenties—the rest of the batting order collapsed without a trace, failing to get out of the blocks. Gilbert Griffith was the chief destroyer, returning stunning figures of 4 for 19. He was backed brilliantly by Ramdeholl (2 for 13) and Hetmyer (2 for 38) as the Windwards were bundled out for 131 in a mere 27.1 overs. Summarised scores of other matches: Final at Liberta Sports Club: Barbados 320-9 from 50 overs (Justin Paris 100, Kelani Clarke 49, Kemar Dixon 48, R’Jai Gittens 37; Alixandre Elliott 4-40, Jahdae Moore 3-58) beat Jamaica 204 all out from 43.5 overs (Demario Hall 47, Pajay Nelson 36, Tyson Gordon Jr. 28, Perico Henry 22*; Justin Paris 5-35, Asher Bradford 3-19) by 116 runs Third place playoff at Bethesda Sports Ground: Trinidad and Tobago 89-3 from 15.1 overs (Brendan Boodoo 49,*Ethan Ramcharan 10; Jaheem Clarke 1-40) beat Leeward Islands 88 all out from 26.5 overs (Tanez Francis 22, Eirette Richards 19; Renaldo Fournillier 4-26, Daron Dhanraj 2-14) by seven wickets
