STRIDE592 has announced the return of SOCA Heart 2026- Strengthening Our Cardiovascular Advocacy- its third annual national campaign promoting heart health, physical activity, and healthier communities across Guyana. The three-month campaign will feature free walk-run training, heart health education, community fitness activities, and the SOCA Heart 5K|10K Run Walk, Kids Fun Run, and wellness festival on Sunday, September 27, at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) Ground, in observance of World Heart Day. “Cardiovascular disease is Guyana’s leading cause of death, and most of those deaths are preventable. The SOCA Heart Project exists because we believe every person deserves access to information, opportunities to be active, and a community that supports them. This is not just a race- it is about building a sustainable ecosystem for healthier lives,” said Onika Jervis, Founder and Managing Director of STRIDE592. Companies, organisations, and individuals are invited to come on board as sponsors or partners of SOCA Heart 2026. Their support will help expand the campaign’s reach, strengthen heart health education initiatives, and contribute to the success of activities that promote healthier communities across Guyana. Together, Guyanese can take meaningful steps toward preventing heart disease and creating a healthier future. STRIDE592, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Woodlands Hospital, and the Heart Foundation Guyana, will officially launch the campaign during a media launch on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Starbucks, MovieTowne Guyana. The campaign will also raise funds for the SOCA Heart Health Research Grant, which supports cardiovascular health research and innovation through Woodlands Hospital, STRIDE592, and the University of Guyana Medical and Pharmacy Departments. Everyone is encouraged to join the movement and help create a healthier Guyana-one step at a time.
