Guyana have been drawn alongside Puerto Rico, Dominica, and the Cayman Islands in Group A of League B for the 2026/27 Concacaf Nations League. The Golden Jaguars will be aiming to top the quartet to seal automatic promotion to League A and secure a place in the newly created League B Championship event set for March 2027. The tournament will also double up as the primary qualifying route for the 2027 Concacaf Gold Cup. The draw, which took place in Miami on Thursday, sees Guyana enter as one of the group’s heavyweight sides. However, they face a tricky test against a rapidly improving Puerto Rico team, while Caribbean rivals Dominica and the Cayman Islands complete the four-team setup. Under the updated tournament format, League B matches will be played at centralised venues during the autumn international windows to reduce travel demands. Group fixtures will take place across the September-October and November FIFA match dates in 2026. Top spot in Group A brings a double reward: direct promotion to North and Central America’s top tier for the following edition, as well as progress to the inaugural centralised League B final-four showcase next spring. Finish bottom, however, and the threat of relegation to League C looms. With the schedule now set, Guyana will begin their campaign in late September 2026, looking to build momentum towards both regional silverware and a coveted place at the 2027 Gold Cup. Following Group Stage play, the three group winners and the best second-place finisher will advance to the League’s Championship, where they will compete for the title of League C Champions. Promotion and Relegation Promotion and relegation between Leagues will take place at the conclusion of the competition, as follows: League A: Fifth- and sixth-place finishers will be relegated to League B. League B: Group winners will be promoted to League A, while fourth-place finishers will be relegated to League C. League C: Group winners and the best second-place finisher will be promoted to League B. Schedule The 2026/27 Concacaf Nations League schedule is as follows: League A Group Stage: September 21 – October 6, 2026 Quarterfinals: November 9-17, 2026 Finals (Semifinals, Third Place Match, and Final): March 25-28, 2027 League B Group Stage: September 21 – October 6 and November 9-17, 2026 Championship (Semifinals, Third Place Match, and Final): March 22-30, 2027 League C Group Stage: September 21 – October 6, 2026 Championship (Semifinals, Third Place Match, and Final): March 22-30, 2027
