A family of three is now left contemplating their next move after a fire destroyed the upper flat of their South Ruimveldt Park home on Thursday morning. The News Room understands that the fire started at approximately 08:30 hrs at the two-storey wooden and concrete house located at Sunflower Circle, South Ruimveldt Park, Georgetown. The upper flat of the house was destroyed while the lower flat sustained extensive water damage. One of the occupants, Lennox Samuels, said he was preparing to leave for work when the fire started. He estimates his losses to be millions of dollars. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
