Businesswoman, 33, robbed by three men

A 33-year-old businesswoman of Peter’s Hall, East Bank Demerara, was robbed by three men on Thursday afternoon. According to Police Headquarters, preliminary investigations revealed that the woman was at her business place when she was confronted by three masked males, two of whom were reportedly armed with handguns. Police also said, “One of the suspects allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded money. The victim’s hands were reportedly bound, after which the suspects relieved her of three Samsung cellular phones, an Acer laptop computer, six Movado watches, a quantity of gold jewellery, GY$5,000,000 cash and US$7,000 cash.” The suspects then escaped in a white old-model Toyota Raum, bearing registration number PLL 1323. Several persons were questioned. CCTV cameras were seen in the area and are being reviewed. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported. Investigations are ongoing
