CAC Games: Raekwon Noel makes a splash with record-shattering 200m Individual Medley Guyana’s swimming standout Raekwon Noel produced a sensational performance at the XXV Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in the Dominican Republic on Tuesday, breaking the National Record in the Men's 200m Individual Medley. Noel powered to victory in his heat with a blistering time of 2:01.73s, eclipsing his own previous national mark of 2:04.01s. The Guyanese star held off a quality field from across the region, touching the wall ahead of Puerto Rico’s Xavier Ruiz (2:02.38s) and Guatemala’s Sebastian Bermudez (2:02.65s), as well as top contenders from Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela, and Aruba. The 200m Individual Medley is widely recognised as one of swimming's most demanding events, requiring athletes to demonstrate peak stamina and technique across all four disciplines: butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle.
