In today's game, cricket is as much about data as it is about talent, with performance analysts now playing a crucial role alongside coaches and team management. Recognising that evolution, national youth cricket coach Ameer Rahaman has earned a qualification in cricket analytics, adding another layer of expertise to his coaching portfolio. Rahaman, who has spent more than a decade as a Physical Education teacher, says he was guided by Avenesh Seetaram, Performance Analyst with the West Indies Senior Men's Team. He is also pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management as he continues to broaden his contribution to the sport. Looking ahead, Rahaman, currently pursuing Level Four coaching certification, has identified a gap in the development of women's cricket locally and is eager to apply his coaching and analytical expertise to help nurture the country's female cricketers.
