Police ranks destroyed a cannabis farm located at Gaetroy Savannah, Upper Berbice River, on Sunday. Cannabis worth $11.5 million was destroyed. In a release, Police Headquarters said three farms with a combined area of approximately five acres were located, on which approximately 35,000 suspected cannabis plants were discovered. The plants ranged between two inches and five feet in height. One makeshift camp was also discovered. The suspected cannabis plants were uprooted and destroyed by fire, along with the makeshift camp. “The estimated value of the narcotics destroyed is eleven million, five hundred and nineteen thousand, two hundred dollars ($11,519,200) Guyana currency,” Police said. No arrests have been made but investigations continue.
