HGP NIGHTLY NEWS- Operations at the Supenaam Stelling have been disrupted after the metal loading ramp used to drive vehicles on and off the ferry collapsed. According to information received, the structure developed a failure despite repeated complaints from users since the project was completed. Truck operators had reportedly observed cracks in one of the metal support bars and raised concerns, but they claim no corrective action was taken before the collapse. As a result of the incident, several trucks that arrived on a ferry from Parika on Wednesday night were reportedly unable to disembark and remained on board. Reports indicate that a technical team from the Ministry of Public Works has since been mobilized to assess the damage and carry out emergency repairs to restore normal operations at the stelling.
