Outside Watooka Guest House, a contrasting scene unfolded as Vice President Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo met with residents as part of a government outreach on Tuesday in Linden, Region 10. Opposition Leader Azruddin Mohamed led residents in protest. The demonstrators, who also included Opposition Leader Aubrey Norton and several other opposition Members of Parliament, chanted, waved placards and voiced concerns over a range of issues before eventually gathering in the compound of Watooka House, where they remained throughout the morning. Among their chief demands were calls for the immediate appointment of the Region Ten Chairman following the We Invest in Nationhood party's victory in the regional elections, as well as renewed calls for the dismissal of Public Works Minister Juan Edghill over the MV Barima tragedy.
