Sacred music and storytelling on Monday took centre stage during a presentation on "Raizal Hymns, Healing Ballads and Pacific Alabaos," highlighting the rich spiritual traditions of Colombia's Pacific Coast alongside Guyana's gospel heritage. The event explored the cultural and spiritual connections between the two countries, showcasing how music serves as a powerful tool for preserving heritage, fostering healing and strengthening international friendship. Speaking at the event, Colombia's Ambassador to Guyana Graybern Livingston Forbes described music as a universal language with the power to reach people in ways that words often cannot, noting its role in healing and bringing communities together. Ambassador Forbes also acknowledged the recent MV Barima tragedy, extending prayers and support to the families of those who lost loved ones, the survivors and everyone affected by the incident.
