Swimmer Raekwon Noel returned home Sunday to a hero's welcome after winning three gold medals — setting meet and national records in each — at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo. Minister within the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport Steven Jacobs, GOA President Godfrey Munroe and GASA President Yulema Phillips joined Noel's parents and well-wishers to greet him. Jacobs pledged continued government support, noting he and Minister Charles Ramson Jr will meet Noel's family before he returns to his studies in the USA. Noel thanked his supporters, including Coach Stephany Fraser. Guyana's other medal came from Ceili Peterson's Taekwondo bronze. Source: Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport
