HGP NIGHTLY NEWS- One Person Dies, Two Homes Destroyed in Lamaha Street Fire A devastating fire at Lot 89 Lamaha Street, Newtown, on Thursday claimed the life of one person and destroyed two homes, while a third house sustained partial damage. According to the Guyana Fire Service, firefighters from the Campbellville, Headquarters and Eccles Fire Stations responded swiftly after receiving reports of the blaze. Upon arrival, they found three homes already engulfed in flames. “Firefighters immediately launched coordinated firefighting operations and were able to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby properties. Despite their efforts, two of the houses were completely destroyed, while a third suffered partial damage.” During the emergency response, firefighters were informed that one occupant was unaccounted for. After successfully extinguishing the fire, a search of the premises was carried out, during which the charred remains of the missing person were discovered. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released. DEVELOPING STORY .
