Public consultations on the government's model villages initiative have commenced as officials seek to strike a balance between preserving villages' culture, identity and values while placing them at the centre of social and economic development. Speaking at the first consultation at the Leonora Secondary School on Monday morning, President Dr Irfaan Ali said the initiative would focus on re-prioritising the development agenda for villages to improve the quality of life and create new economic opportunities for residents.
