Chris Lall Leads the charge as Endurance Championship takes centre stage at South Dakota Circuit

The heat is on at the South Dakota Circuit as the 2026 Endurance Championship shifts into second gear today. Motorsport fans across Guyana are set for a high-octane afternoon as the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) presents Round Two — the coveted Dakota 100. With green lights scheduled for noon, the day promises a relentless test of driver endurance, tactical execution, and mechanical survival across three thrilling segments. Before the main endurance feature, the afternoon gets underway with a high-energy doubleheader. First up, the Toyota Vitz fleet will lock wheels in a frantic 20-minute sprint, where bumper-to-bumper action is virtually guaranteed around the South Dakota tarmac. That will be immediately followed by a flat-out 15-lap motorcycle contest, giving the two-wheeled racers a chance to slice through the turns in a pure display of racecraft and courage. All eyes, however, will be firmly fixed on the headline event: a gruelling 100-lap endurance war of attrition. Chris Lall enters the weekend as the man to beat. Lall produced a commanding masterclass in Round One, putting in a flawless 100-lap drive to claim both the overall victory and the Enduro 1501cc-1600cc class honours. Yet, the margin for error remains razor-thin. Biting at his heels is the formidable father-and-son duo of Mohamed Saifudeen Roshandin and Mohamed Shahabudin Roshandin. Having finished just one lap shy of top spot in the season opener on 99 laps, the pair will be desperate to make amends and deny Lall a second straight triumph. The battle lines are equally fierce across the individual categories, with championship leads hanging in the balance. In the Enduro 1601cc-2000cc class, Mark Williams holds the advantage after an impressive third-place overall finish in Round One. However, a stacked pack featuring Randy Moharally, Randel Singh, and the dynamic pair of Richard and Reeyaz Hamid are all primed to disrupt his momentum. Over in the Enduro 0-1500cc division, Zachary Persaud and Ryan Rahaman top the table following their hard-fought 97-lap victory last time out. They face stiff opposition from Paul Jiwanram — who finished a mere two laps back — while Nyron Maraj and Christopher Samaroo complete a podium-proven group capable of snatching the win. Meanwhile, the Unlimited category is set for another tactical gamble. Kamal Seebarran and Shayne Seebarran took top points in the opener, narrowly edging Ravin Ramoutar and Ryan Ramoutar on finishing position after both crews racked up 94 laps.
