The Consulate General of Guyana in Toronto held a Night of Prayers and Reflections on Friday, marking the last of three days of national mourning for victims of the MV Barima tragedy. Chaired by Honorary Consul Mani Singh, the ceremony featured a moment of silence, memorial candle-lighting, interfaith prayers, and tributes from diaspora members, community leaders and Caribbean diplomats, including Consul General of Antigua and Barbuda Gail Christian, who spoke on behalf of the Caribbean Consular Corps. The event closed with the lighting of individual candles and a rendition of "Amazing Grace." Source: Consulate General of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana in Toronto
