The MV Barima tragedy took the centre stage on Monday as Parliamentarians gathered for a sitting of the National Assembly at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre, Liliendaal. As members of the government side provided an update on the tragedy, including the pledge of a full inquiry by President Dr. Irfaan Ali, opposition parliamentarians persisted with protests calling for the resignation of Public Works Minister Juan Edghill and former Minister within the Ministry of Public Works Deodat Indar over the sinking of the passenger and cargo vessel that served the Georgetown/North West route.
