Family, friends and members gathered at the Zeelugt Masjid in Region Three to bid a final farewell to Bibi Mohammed and her husband, Ravindra Singh, who were among the victims of the MV Barima tragedy. The couple was laid to rest following an emotional Janazah prayer, as loved ones remembered them as hardworking and devoted to providing for their family. Persons gather for the funeral. For years, Mohammed and Singh made the long and often perilous journey by sea from Georgetown to Port Kaituma, where they earned a living selling clothing. Carrying bags filled with merchandise, they travelled through communities and along the waterfront, building lasting relationships with loyal customers who came to know and trust them over the years. Their livelihood was built on determination and sacrifice, with the couple spending countless hours on the road to support their family through their clothing business across Guyana.
