The University of Louisiana at Lafayette received over $697,000 from the U.S. National Science Foundation in 2026 for an international study on flood resilience and climate adaptation in Caribbean coastal communities, with a primary focus on Guyana. As part of the initiative, lead researcher and PhD student Gregory Williams traveled to Guyana to conduct fieldwork in flood-affected regions, gathering data to guide design recommendations and analysis.
