Rehabilitation Through Boxing: Male and female inmates at the Republicans Boxing gym are taking part in a boxing programme aimed at supporting their rehabilitation, marking the first time female inmates have accessed this type of training. Conducted in collaboration with the Guyana Boxing Association, the programme is helping participants build discipline, focus and self-control under the guidance of coaches Adrian Thomas and Wincel Thomas. Training covers stance and balance, footwork, offensive and defensive techniques, combinations, pad work, heavy bag drills, hand wrapping and ring safety, with close monitoring throughout to ensure proper technique and injury prevention.
