Man arrested after CANU seizes over 28 kilograms of cannabis on West Coast Berbice

A man was taken into custody after ranks from the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) seized more than 28 kilograms of cannabis on the West Coast of Berbice. In a statement, CANU said the suspect, identified as Andre Abel, was arrested during an intelligence-led operation the operation conducted between Calcutta Village and Ross Village. During the operation, CANU said its ranks uncovered 28.392 kilograms of suspected cannabis. Abel was escorted to CANU Headquarters along with the seized narcotics. Investigations are ongoing.
